I've got no idea how important Courage is. I figure I'm not the only one who's a little lost with deciding between Speed / Capacity / Courage / Stamina. So I looked up the options, and I can see the stats, but since I'm new to "horsing", I don't know which stats are the most important. Since I can ride to any town to buy a horse, now is decision time. I figured, since I've got the coin, I want to get a better horse. So I just got Pebbles, and I decided to ride around on a sight-seeing-tour. "Pegasus" and "Trojan" have low stats in general, and seem to be "one trick pony" horses.ĬONCLUSION: For anyone wanting to pick their horse based on stats, " Warhorse Jenda" is your pick, with " Kanthaka" being an option for those who want that extra Courage. "Kanthaka" is an option for a decent (not best) horse that has the best Courage. "Bucephalus" has nice Capacity/Courage stats, so it could be an option if you're not worried about Speed. "Sleipnir" a slighty-worse option (compared to Warhorse Jenda, Sleipnir has slightly less Speed/Capacity, and slightly more Courage, and hugely less Stamina) for an all-rounder. So, "Warhorse Jenda" seems to be the best all-rounder. Speed specialist: Pegasus (1st in Speed, 18th in Capacity, 7th in Courage, 10th in Stamina).Ĭapacity specialist: Trojan (17th in Speed, 1st in Capacity, 18th in Courage, 17th in Stamina).Ĭourage specialist: Kanthaka (5th in Speed, 15th in Capacity, 1st in Courage, 5th in Stamina). Bucephalus (14th in Speed, 2nd in Capacity, 2nd in Courage, 13th in Stamina). Sleipnir (3rd in Speed, 4th in Capacity, 4th in Courage, 14th in Stamina). "All-rounder" options: Warhorse Jenda (2nd in Speed, 3rd in Capacity, 5th in Courage, 2nd in Stamina). So these 6 horses (out of 20) are potentially "best" (ignoring Stamina) for stats. I ranked the stats based on how many horses have a higher stat in that category, so "2nd in Speed" is actually "tied with 2nd", for example. I looked at Speed/Capacity/Courage, but completely ignored Stamina. I'm not sure if the stats are all up-to-date, but I'm assuming they're the same ratio. Tl dr - Warhorse Jenda (best all-rounder), Kanthaka (bonus Courage).ĮDIT: By using this wiki page, I've made some conclusions on my own. The rules of reddit and reddiquette also apply. We’ll have three types of horses in-game (courser, destrier, rouncey), and each offers different abilities, stats, skills, and perks. Horses also serve as a secondary inventory for the player. War horses can be used as living weapons with special moves and attacks (strafing, running backwards, several different kicks, etc.). Horses are your primary means of transportation in our sprawling world, but you can fight from horseback, as well. Once you get your first horse, you'll always have a mount. You can compare you horses stats with those of other horses by holding Henry can only own one horse at a time: if you get a new one, the old horse's inventory will move automatically to the new one. Horses don't grow on trees though! It's a costly thing that you can only acquire by buying, stealing or getting as a gift or reward. You can call your horse any time by whistling and mount it using But your whistle will also be heard by the people within earshot, which sometimes can be a disadvantage, while on the other hand it can also be a way of distracting attention. In the horse tab you will see your horse's stats, tackle and inventory. Just begin cantering and don't steer him. Your horse is smarter than some people and will stick to the path you're on if you give him his head. You'll also fall from the saddle if you're seriously wounded (hit by an arrow, for example), or you can be unhorsed by a halberd. If you try to push your horse when its stamina is too low, it will throw you.
